Psalm 1 - Righteousness vs Wickedness

May 16, 2024
Psalm
Psalm 11 Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked,
nor stood in the way of sinners,
nor sat in the seat of scoffers.
2 But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai,
and on His Torah he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a planted tree over streams of water,
producing its fruit during its season.
Its leaf never droops—
but in all he does, he succeeds.
4
The wicked are not so.
For they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand during the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For Adonai knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.

Where do you go for wisdom or for advice on how to make decisions?

The correct answer is God and his word but real life is a lot different than we project to others.

Often times people ask for advice to validate their position.

They seek what their ears want to hear and to hear push back is not entirely accepted.

How about you? Seek the answer in your heart and be honest.

I plan to go through the psalms an write some prayers around the things that stand out to me.

Some will be longer than others.

Things that stand out to me.

Meditating on Torah day and night.

how to meditate on torah during your sleep? Your spirit is still awake. Maybe instruct it to worship the Lord before you go to bed.

The tree planted by the streams of water.

This tree never withers, but it only bears fruit in its proper season.

The tree continually grows and gleams water and produces the fruit that is necessary in its proper season.

There is always success in all that this person does. Probably because they have meditated on the Torah day and night.

Where in my life do I feel like I need to be bearing fruit when it is not the proper time?

Where have I been blown away like chaff?

The wicked and Judgement

They (the wicked) will not stand during judgement. Does this mean the righteous will?

What makes me righteous? The Blood of the lamb.

Does that mean that I will be prepared to stand during the judgment?

Or will I be weeping and gnashing my teeth also?

Prayer:
Abba, Father, Please forgive me of the ways that I sin against you. Please Forgive all the times that I allow myself to be blown around like chaff in the wind due to my laziness.
Abba, would you please teach me the ways to meditate on your Torah all day and night?
Abba, Would you please teach me to bring my mind into one accord with the Messiah that I might be prepared to stand in the end with my name in the book of life.

Abba, I repent of taking the advice of the wicked and falling into their paths.
Abba, I repent of sitting in the seat of Scoffers, standing in judgement and mocking/jeering at people who were made in your image.
Would you please help me learn to speak life and to be part of your kingdom work, not the enemy's.

Amen
