An interesting point was made at my most recent bible study (one that happened directly after my car's engine failed. Not important to the story but important to my state of mind at the time.)
In Deuteronomy 4 it says this:
5 “See, just as Adonai my God commanded me, I have taught you statutes and ordinances to do in the land that you are about to enter to possess. 6 You must keep and do them, for it is your wisdom and understanding in the eyes of the peoples, who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 7 For what great nation is there that has gods so near to them, as Adonai our God is whenever we call on Him? 8 What great nation is there that has statutes and ordinances that are righteous—like all of this Torah that I am setting before you today?
The things Moses told the people are for when they move into the land -- their Birthright -- to live and flourish.
This is incredibly important to our walk with the Lord. It solidified ideas that have been spoken about in our community for months -- for me at least.
As you mature and move from space to the next, standard you are held to changes (its there from the beginning just not comprehended most probably.)
Moving from non-believer to new believer changes the standard you live by (it should).
As you mature in the faith you begin to think, act and submit to God in different ways as the knowledge of God expands. The closer you are to him, the more humble you must become. It is the Low that are lifted up.
So this begs the question, Where in your life are you holding on to your old ways?
There is a time to move out of the wilderness and into the promised land. That requires a lifestyle change.

What is your birthright? And when you go to possess it are you ready to change your ways so that you can actually posses it?
This week, pray for wisdom and knowledge on what your birthright is.
Where is it that God is calling you? And when you understand that, what are the new ways that he is calling you to walk in? (Not new doctrine OBVIOUSLY) Think on the sermon on the mount. Where do you fail in these places? where are you to mature in your own walk?
Pray and repent for the places you are clinging on to that need to be removed for you to properly posses your birthright. Hear and Obey the Lord and follow his ways so that it may go well with you.
