OMER 6 - Ready for what comes

April 14, 2023
Counting the Omer

End of Day Six, Start of Day Seven:

Am I prepared for what is to come?

Am I in a place that will be acceptable and pleasing to the Father if he were to return right now at this moment.

BOOM. Taken up and ready to give an account of my life.

Did I live a life that would earn a "Well done my son" or would I earn an "away you worker of iniquity for I have not known you"?

Matthew 7: 1

“Stop judging, so that you may not be judged. 2 For with the judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3 “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the beam in your own eye? 4 Or how will you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, the beam is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before pigs; otherwise they will trample them under their feet, then turn and rip you to shreds.

7 “Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it shall be opened.

9 “For what man among you, when his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or when he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 So in all things, do to others what you would want them to do to you—for this is the Torah and the Prophets.

13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. 14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the way that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

15 “Watch out for false prophets,[a] who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes aren’t gathered from thorn bushes or figs from thistles, are they? 17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the rotten tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”[b]

This is a serious thing people can miss.

We talk often of the away from me you workers of lawlessness but we miss the part before it...

22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’

Jesus does not say " No you didn't."

He does not correct them telling him that they did not do those things which means...They must have done those things...

So there is more to the story.

Often I gauge my walk by these "miracles" when it should be gauged by my obedience to what Jesus says.

John 14:15-31

15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper[c] so He may be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. 18 I will not abandon you as orphans;[d] I will come to you. 19 In a little while, the world will no longer behold Me, but you will behold Me. Because I live, you also will live!

20 “In that day, you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”

22 Judah (not the one from Kriot) said to Him, “Master, what has happened, that You are about to reveal Yourself to us and not the world?”

23 Yeshua answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words. And the word you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. 25 These things I have spoken to you while dwelling with you. 26 But the Helper, the Ruach ha-Kodesh whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of everything that I said to you.

27 Shalom I leave you, My shalom I give to you; but not as the world gives! Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. 28 You’ve heard Me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe!

30 “I will not talk with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has nothing on Me. 31 But in order that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me.

“Get up, let’s go from here!”

So keep the commandments.

Love God with everything I am and everything I have.

And love others as I love myself. Lift them high so that they might become free through the sacrifice of the Son. Just like I am.

The power of freedom is not the miracles.

The power of freedom is to walk freely after the ways of the Lord.

The miracles follow.

Abba, I repent of my lack of understanding on what it means to be Free as your Son. I repent of seeking your miracles out more than seeking you.

Please forgive my lack of perspective Father. Your miracles are good and true but they are all for bringing us closer so that we may live with you forever.
Please help me to walk in your ways as a son that can stand before you to give an account that is not shameful to your name and character. Please forgive me for the sins I have committed and will commit, though may I commit less as I understand your truth.

An oldie but goodie that I grew up listening to. Kind of goofy but also catchy
