I have a rooster.
This little buddy started crowing recently. When you think Rooster crowing, its once in the morning when the sun comes up right? Wrong. This little buddy of mine crows 10 to 15 times in a row each morning as he tries to establish dominance of his territory to the other roosters a street over. One Crow after the other. Back to back.
Waking up to roosters is incredibly abrupt. And frustrating. And Abba reminded me of Peter and rooster crowing while I was frustrated about this rooster doing his job.
Lets dive into what Abba was telling me.
Mark 14: 26-31
26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 27 And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” 29 Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” 30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” 31 But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.”
And they all said the same.
How many times do I do this? Lord I WILL DIE WITH YOU. I will DIE FOR YOU. That's how much my faith means to me! (uh, thats just my pride as I am dumb)
Then later in the passage after Jesus is taken ... and beaten ... and handed over to the authorities ...
Here we have it.
Mark 14:66-72
66 And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, 67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” 68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed. 69 And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” 70 But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” 71 But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” 72 And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
And he broke down and wept.
Hahaha Peter! This idiot denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed twice. That's pretty fast!
I definitely wouldn't have denied Jesus if I was there.
John 14: 15-31
15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. 18 I will not abandon you as orphans;[d] I will come to you. 19 In a little while, the world will no longer behold Me, but you will behold Me. Because I live, you also will live! 20 “In that day, you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.” 22 Judah (not the one from Kriot) said to Him, “Master, what has happened, that You are about to reveal Yourself to us and not the world?” 23 Yeshua answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words. And the word you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. 25 These things I have spoken to you while dwelling with you. 26 But the Helper, the Ruach ha-Kodesh whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of everything that I said to you. 27 “Shalom I leave you, My shalom I give to you; but not as the world gives! Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. 28 You’ve heard Me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe! 30 “I will not talk with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has nothing on Me. 31 But in order that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. “Get up, let’s go from here!”
Do I love Jesus?
Well, every time I do not keep his commands, I show that I do not love him.
Jesus literally says:
He who does not love Me does not keep My words. And the word you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me
Now, I really really REALLY want you to pay attention to this next part.
Every time I choose sin, I deny Jesus.
Every time I choose anger over forgiveness, I deny Jesus.
Every time I choose pornography over true love, respect and honor, I deny Yeshua the Messiah.
Every time I choose Covetousness over Contentment and good stewardship of the things I have, I deny the Son of God.
Every time I idolize people or things or money over putting God on the Throne, I deny the Father.

Before the denial, while Jesus was greatly distressed, he asked for his friends to keep watch while he prayed.
Mark 14: 32-42
32 And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. 34 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.”[d] 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36 And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” 37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. 40 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him. 41 And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”
I walk in my own fleshly temptations every day. I deny Jesus every day. OH TO GO 1 HOUR WITHOUT SIN! Am I truly watching? Praying that I may not enter into temptation?
Is my spirit even WILLING?
And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
And he broke down and wept.
Do I even weep after I betray the Lord?
NOpe.
I live in tomorrow.
Tomorrow I will start for real! Tomorrow will be different. I can start my good habits tomorrow! I have the Future eternity to make better choices!
Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
James 4:13-15
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
Tomorrow is not promised.
I have to stop denying Jesus TODAY.
I need to start walking in Spirit and Truth TODAY.
Yesterday has gone and tomorrow is not promised. I need to may the best of the time given to me at the VERY moment.
Praise be to the Father that he is so merciful and Long suffering!
May all praise and honor and Glory be his
FOREVER AND EVER!
Amen!
Prayer topic this week:
Repent, repent, repent, repent and Repent some more.
Turn away from your Sin. Step into your calling and destiny. Be a good steward of the Gifts that GOD has GIVEN YOU.
THE TIME IS NOW.
Don't wait on tomorrow. It might not come.
